Different instructional strategies will be used for special needs students as:
• accommodations provided to the student that allows for modification of setting, schedule,
curriculum material, and response format.
• strategies to improve organization skills and study skills.
• strategies to help students improve their attention and listening skills.
• explicit instruction delivered in an easy to understand format where material is delivered in small
chunks or groups or in a step by step format.
• strategies for learning how to efficiently organize information so it becomes stored in long term
memory for easy retrieval.
• use of visual aids, graphic organizers, and mapping aids to help students understand concepts,
ideas and complex relationships.
• the use of modified and adapted curriculum that is age appropriate and delivered at the student’s
academic level.
